More than just green – Habitat forest

The photo on the plaque shows the leaf and the fruit of a Beech, a Barack. At least one-quarter of all trees on the Denzlinger boundary are beeches, followed by the other main species: oak, ash, maple, fir, spruce, Douglas fir, pine, and larch. The proportion of deciduous trees covers around 80% of our forests. The forest on the Mauracher Berg comprises approx. 10 ha, which is equivalent to roughly the size of 15 football fields. While the more shaded north side is covered with deciduous trees and mixed forest, grape vines and fruit trees are located on the southern side. In addition to the more intense sunlight the fertile Loess also promotes cultivation of special crops.
